City Council Wrap-Up April 10, 2017

Tucker's City Council held their first of two called meetings on Monday night at Tucker Recreation Center, addressing two key agenda items.

The first was the annexation of the Masters Inn hotel on Montreal Road. Owners of the newly-remodeled facility petitioned the City to be annexed, a request that was approved by a 6-0 Council vote.

Additionally, Council held a first read on changes to the City's sign ordinance. Community Development Director John McHenry presented on so-called "Feather signs", which would become prohibited if the Council votes to pass the amendment at their meeting on April 24.

Earlier in the day, Council held a Work Session at Tucker-Reid H. Cofer Library to discuss boundaries of a Downtown Development Authority (DDA). While no action was taken, Council did direct staff to draw up a new map with expanded boundaries for their consideration at a future meeting.
