TUCKER, Ga. (January 17, 2018) – Tucker’s City government will be shut down for a second straight day Thursday, a move necessitated by slick road conditions left by Wednesday morning’s snow event.
City Hall will be closed Thursday with the expectation of reopening Friday at 9 a.m. The same is true of Tucker Recreation Center, where all activities and after-school care are being cancelled for Thursday. At the county level, DeKalb County Schools and government offices will be closed again on Thursday.
Forecasters with the National Weather Service are predicting a significant refreeze overnight into Thursday morning, as temperatures dip back into the teens around Tucker. They predict temperatures will rise to above freezing just before noon, with the roads beginning to thaw out around 4 p.m.
Due to the Tucker government closure on Wednesday, the monthly environmental court date for Code Enforcement violations had to be postponed. All cases that were supposed to be heard on Wednesday will now go to court on Wednesday February 21.
