Kroger Joins on as Series Sponsor of TKR Summer of Fun

Tucker Independence Day Celebration

(June 20, 2018) – With the City’s first downtown fireworks show now less than two weeks away, Tucker’s summer event series is getting support from a new sponsor. Kroger, whose regional headquarters sits on the Tucker boundary, has agreed to join Jacobs Engineering as series sponsors of the TKR Summer of Fun.

“Kroger has long been a great community partner, and we’re excited and grateful that they are making a big investment now to partner with the City of Tucker,” said Tucker Mayor Frank Auman. “We are so glad to have Kroger coming in to support this wonderful series of community engagement events. With thousands of people packing downtown Tucker on July 3, it’s an ideal way for Kroger to display their commitment to our community.”

The City will be hosting its first-ever Celebration of Independence and Fireworks Spectacular on July 3. Fireworks are scheduled to start at 9:30, but entertainment on Main Street, including live music and giveaways, begins at 7 o’clock. This event comes on the heels of the highly-successful Movie on Main Street, where nearly 300 people came out for a free showing of The Greatest Showman.

“We are pleased to be a part of the TKR Summer of Fun,” said Bruce Lucia, president of Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “With two stores in Tucker, this sponsorship demonstrates Kroger’s commitment to the communities we serve.”

The final event of the TKR Summer of Fun will be the City’s National Night Out celebration on August 7 at Livsey Elementary School. All events are free and open to anyone in and around the Tucker community.
