Local 7 Receives Inaugural Mayor's Business Award

TUCKER, Ga. (September 28, 2018) – Mayor Frank Auman presented his first-ever Mayor’s Business Award Friday to ownership of The Local No. 7. The Main Street restaurant has become a Tucker staple and is celebrating its seventh anniversary this month.

“[Local 7 is] a great example of doing well by doing good,” Auman told the crowd at a ceremony outside the restaurant. “They’ve done good for our community and that’s what we want to see in Tucker. That’s what we want to support as a city; encourage businesses to take a risk, be supported by the City itself and by the local business community and do well by doing good.”

Local 7 opened its doors at the corner of Main Street and Railroad Avenue in the fall of 2011. Since that time, co-owner Luis Finley and his business partners have seen the restaurant grow and become a fixture for diners in and around Tucker.

“Seven years is a big accomplishment for us,” Finley said. “We’d just like to thank the community. [They] make us who we are.”

The Mayor’s Business Award will be given out annually to a Tucker company that is celebrating a special milestone and actively gives back to the community.
