Tucker, DCA Partner on Energy Code Workshop

light-bulbTUCKER, Ga. (April 12, 2019) – Contractors will have a chance to learn about Georgia’s new energy code next week. The City of Tucker and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs are teaming up to host a free Residential Energy Code Workshop on April 18 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Tucker City Hall Annex.

“We’re here to work hand-in-hand with our builders and contractors to make sure they can put up high-quality homes, while staying in compliance with the law,” said Tucker City Building Official Josh Roth. “With changes in technology and sustainability, codes sometimes change, as we’ll see on January 1, 2020. So, it’s incumbent upon us at the City level and our partners at the state to work proactively to spread the word.”

Funding for the workshop comes from a grant the Georgia DCA Building Codes Department and Southface were awarded through the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority. It is designed to Continuing education credits will be available for this workshop and breakfast will be provided. Tucker’s City Hall Annex is located at 4228 First Avenue.
