City of Tucker to Host Manufacturing Day on April 24

Tucker Manufacturing Day

TUCKER, Ga. (April 16, 2019) – Tucker’s business community is opening its doors for the first-ever Tucker Manufacturing Day on April 24. Registered guests from the government, real estate and business sectors will get to hear a panel discussion, as well as tour several businesses, to find out why Tucker is quickly becoming one of the top destinations for economic development in the Metro Atlanta area.

“On the 24th, we’re going to pull back the curtain and reveal the complexity, advanced technology and far reach of the industrial businesses right here in our backyard,” said Community and Economic Development Director John McHenry. “We’re excited to show people around the Metro area and the State of Georgia just how dynamic and diverse Tucker’s manufacturing and industrial corridors are. We’re also excited to invite Tucker residents to take a look, with an eye toward increasing awareness of the value of our business community.”

The event is co-sponsored by the Tucker-Northlake and Tucker Summit Community Improvement Districts (CIDs). Registered participants will enjoy a free breakfast and networking hour, followed by a panel discussion featuring top business minds from around the area and moderated by Tucker Mayor Frank Auman. They will then board buses to tour several Tucker manufacturing and innovation hubs including Eurofins, sonnenBatterie, Steel Mart and Thermo Pac. Along the way, participants will learn about development happening in Tucker’s Northlake area, as well as investments in Tucker’s downtown Main Street area.

“This city has a lot to offer from an economic perspective,” said Mayor Frank Auman. “For a while now, we’ve been a ‘best kept secret’. Now, the secret is out and we’re ready to shine a spotlight on all these very successful business corridors.”

Tucker’s Manufacturing Day will be hosted at the Stone Ridge Event Center at 1750 Stone Ridge Drive. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m. and the event will end with a free lunch at 12:30 p.m. For more information or to secure a spot, email Tucker’s Business Outreach Coordinator Billy Phillips at bphillips@tuckerga.gov.

The City of Tucker was incorporated in 2016. It is currently home to more than 2,000 licensed businesses, including multi-national corporations like Pepsi and Ricoh
