What is the Brockett Road Traffic Calming Project?
Due to safety concerns, the City of Tucker is beginning work on the Brockett Road Traffic Calming project. The work is slated to start on October 13, 2022. The initial phase involves complete repaving of the road. This will be followed by the installation of center medians and chicanes as well as lane restriping.
Road work is projected to last three months weather pending, and it will be performed from Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.. Lane closures will occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., and through traffic is encouraged to find alternate routes during school pick-up hours. Traffic delays are expected throughout the project. We thank you for your patience during this time.
The Brockett Road Traffic Calming project will move forward with asphalt topping the week of November 14. Once completed, the concrete work for the medians and chicanes will be able to begin and is slated to be completed in early December. Final pavement markings will then be installed and the project completion is projected for early December, weather permitting.
