City Council Wrap-Up February 26, 2018

On Monday evening, Tucker’s City Council met for a series of second reads and public hearings involving annexation, some changes in the alcohol ordinance and two proposed zoning changes. First, Council voted unanimously to accept the petition filed to annex Briarcliff Village and the Michael’s shopping center. They then heard a second read of an Ordinance to amend Chapter 4 of the City Code to change the hours of alcohol retail sales within the City to be in agreement with the County ordinance, to have Alcohol Board Appeals heard by a hearing office and to define hours and fees for “bottle clubs”. The Ordinance passed unanimously with a change in that the bottle clubs be allowed to close at 11:00 p.m.

The agenda also called for two second reads and public hearings for the rezoning of two properties on Lawrenceville Highway. The developer requested a deferral on both until March 26th and Council voted agreement unanimously.

City Council next meets on March 12th at 7:00 at the City Hall Annex, 4228 First Avenue.
