City Council Wrap-Up February 12, 2018

Tucker’s City Council met Monday night with a pair of residential development projects on the agenda. The first project, which would feature 24 single-family detached homes, would be located along the north side of Lawrenceville Highway just west of Northlake Parkway. The second project, which would feature 56 townhomes, would be located along the south side of Lawrenceville Highway just west of Cooledge Road. Those two developments are scheduled to come back before Council at their meeting on February 26 for a second read and final vote.

Council also heard a first read of proposed changes to the City Code as it pertains to alcohol. Those changes would include more stringent regulations on so-called “bottle clubs”, revising the hours for retail alcohol sales in the City and having appeals on alcohol-related issues reviewed by a hearing officer. Those proposed changes could be voted on at the meeting on February 26.

City Council next meets on February 20 for a special called meeting that will serve as a public hearing for an annexation petition by the owners of the property at the Briarcliff Village Shopping Center. That meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. at the City Hall Annex (4228 First Avenue).
