City Council Wrap-Up March 27, 2017

Tucker’s City Council wrapped their business for the month of March with a brief meeting Monday night at Tucker Recreation Center.

There was one action item on the agenda, as the Council held a public hearing and vote on proposed amendments to the City’s Zoning Ordinance. After some discussion, Council voted 7-0 to adopt a modified version of the amendments, which will clarify certain zoning standards in the City.

Council held a first read on an annexation petition by the owners of the Masters Inn (1435 Montreal Road E.). The hotel, which has been completely renovated, will be up for a final vote at the Council meeting on April 10.

Two school groups showcased their talents at the meeting. Members of the Beta Club from Smoke Rise Elementary led the Pledge of Allegiance. Students from Tucker High School’s Vex Robotics team were on hand to tell Council about their upcoming trip to the World Championships next month in Louisville, Kentucky.
