City Planning Tucker Days Activities

Tucker Day-Matt RobbinsTUCKER, Ga. (March 27, 2018) – Leaders with the City of Tucker have planned a series of community engagement events to coincide with the May 12 Tucker Day celebration. The events, announced by Mayor Frank Auman at Monday’s City Council meeting, are designed to educate, inform and honor residents of all ages.

The series builds up to Tucker’s annual volunteer-run celebration – Tucker Day. Main Street will shut down in anticipation of thousands of festivalgoers as they come from across Metro Atlanta to enjoy food, live music and family fun. The party gets started with a “Human Powered Parade” at 10 o’clock Saturday morning.

The schedule of events for the week are as follows:

  • Monday May 7 – Free Public Health Screening

Children, parents and anyone who may need help can receive free dental or medical screenings from 4-8 p.m. at Tucker Recreation Center. Participating sponsors to be announced.

  • Tuesday May 8 – University of Government Affairs at Tucker

Residents, business owners and other stakeholders are invited to meet City staff and learn about the various departments and services offered at City Hall. Event will take place from 7-9 p.m. at the City Hall Annex.

  • Wednesday May 9 – Community Council Meeting

Come and be a part of the first step in Tucker’s legislative process as our volunteer Community Council holds its monthly meeting. (If no petitions are received for the May cycle, the Community Council meeting will be cancelled and replaced by a community engagement event.)

  • Thursday May 10 – Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

An invitation-only gathering to say thank you to Tucker’s wonderful civic and volunteer groups. Time and location to be announced.

  • Friday May 11 – State of the City Address

Mayor Auman will deliver his second State of the City Address starting at 4 p.m. at the City Hall Annex.

  • Saturday May 12 – Tucker Day

The annual celebration of Tucker’s past, present and future. Live music, food trucks, street vendors and free activities for children happening throughout Downtown Tucker from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on Tucker Day, visit
