TUCKER, Ga. (December 8, 2017) – The City of Tucker is asking residents and other stakeholders to consider volunteering for one of six boards or commissions the City will have in 2018. The applications for those bodies are due for consideration by December 18.
In addition to the existing Community Council, Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), Tucker will create an Alcoholic Beverage Review Board, a Construction Board of Appeals and a Downtown Development Authority in January. These new boards combined will necessitate the appointment of as many as 17 volunteers. Members of the existing boards are invited to re-apply for another term, but new volunteers will be considered for those bodies, as well.
Each volunteer body has its own unique scope, criteria and term limits. This information, along with applications for each body, can be found at the City’s Boards and Commissions webpage.
The City of Tucker is a thriving community of 35,000. It is home to nearly 2,000 businesses ranging from mom and pops to major multi-national corporations. Tucker formally became an incorporated city in 2016.
