TUCKER, Ga. (October 15, 2018) – The City of Tucker is hosting its semiannual free health fair for the community on October 17 at Tucker Recreation Center. Among the offerings will be flu shots, vision screenings, blood pressure checks and fitness tips for seniors.
“Building on the success of our first health screening back in the springtime, we are excited to offer another opportunity for our residents to focus on their health,” said City-Community Connector Sonja Szubski. “Income should never be a barrier to good health, so we hope that anyone in the Tucker area who needs these services will come and take part.”
The City of Tucker is partnering with the DeKalb Board of Health for the event. Representatives from DeKalb will administer flu shots for $35-$65 and also conduct vision and blood pressure screenings. Tucker’s newest health care provider, Iora Primary Care, will provide education to senior citizens on how to minimize fall risk. Eric’s Fit Lab will lead seniors in some safe and easy exercises they can do to stay in shape. The health fair is free and open to anyone in the community. It will take place on Wednesday October 17 from 4-8 p.m. at Tucker Recreation Center (4898 Lavista Road).
