TUCKER, Ga. (March 4, 2019) – With springtime just around the corner and parents looking ahead to Summer Camp opportunities, the City of Tucker is again proud to offer a safe, affordable option for local students. The Tucker Recreation Center Summer Camp will begin on May 28 and run weekly through August 2.
“We’re excited to launch registration for Year Two of our popular Summer Camp,” said Tucker Parks and Recreation Director Rip Robertson. “Last summer, we got a lot of feedback – things parents and students liked or didn’t like – that will help guide our programming for Summer 2019.”
Among the things that will stay the same is the price. The weekly fee for students is $95. That includes breakfast and lunch for camp weeks two through nine and activities all summer long. The City will also, again, partner with the Wade Walker YMCA to staff the camp.
“The big thing we’re focused on this summer is going to be ‘fun’,” said Tucker Recreation Leader Crystal Dawson. “We’re planning new activities, an increased focus on STEM and we’re addressing the biggest feedback we received from last summer: increased swim time.”
Need-based scholarships for the Tucker Recreation Center 2019 Summer Camp are available. Parents can get more information by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling (470) 481-0205. Registration is open at tuckerga.gov/parks or you can register in person at Tucker Recreation Center.
