City of Tucker Inviting Adults to Channel Their Inner-Child at Field Day

TUCKER, Ga. (April 15, 2019) – Grown-ups will get a little nostalgia trip next month at the City of Tucker’s first-ever Adult Field Day. The event, taking place on Saturday May 18 from 5-8 p.m., is being hosted by Friends of Tucker Recreation Center. It will feature all the standard tailgate games, as well as bubble soccer, a water balloon toss competition and a DJ spinning classic tunes from the 80s and 90s.

“We have a really active adult and young adult community here in Tucker and we thought Adult Field Day would be a fun way to unofficially kick off the summer,” said Recreation Leader Crystal Dawson.

Tickets for the event, which will be set up on the athletic field next to Tucker Recreation Center, will be $20 per person. Included in the price of the ticket will be a cookout style dinner with vegetarian options, one non-alcoholic beverage, and all games and activities. Free childcare will also be provided by licensed staff from the Wade Walker YMCA.

“If your child is potty-trained and between the ages of three and 15, the staff is going to take good care of them,” explained Parks and Recreation Director Rip Robertson. “As a parent, I can’t imagine a more relaxing way to enjoy an evening.”

Tucker Brewing Company will be onsite with beer for sale and Kona Ice will be selling their specialty offerings for dessert.

Proceeds from the event will go toward helping with the cost of tuition for need-based students attending Tucker’s 2019 Summer Camp. Registration for the Camp, as well as tuition assistance, is available right now at the Tucker Recreation Center or online at www.tuckerga.gov/parks.
