TUCKER, Ga. (October 26, 2017) – Lt. David Schoeppner was named the City of Tucker’s new Police Liaison this week. Schoeppner, a 16-year veteran of the DeKalb County Police Department, will replace Lt. R.S. Smith in the capacity after Smith was transferred to DeKalb’s East Precinct.
“I’m excited to take on this challenge to serve the City of Tucker,” Schoeppner said. “Lt. Smith set the bar for service in this community and I look forward to helping continue to foster relationships with the people of Tucker.”
Schoeppner has served in various roles with the DeKalb Police, most recently working as Morning Watch Commander in the South Precinct. As Tucker’s Police Liaison, he will be responsible for attending City meetings and events, briefing the Mayor and City Council, as well as working with staff and the community to bring positive and proactive policing to areas of need in the City.
A native of Pennsylvania, Schoeppner and his wife of 12 years reside in Metro Atlanta.
