Community Invited for Tucker Pop-Up Dog Park Event

dog-parkTUCKER, Ga. (August 9, 2019) – Tucker’s Parks and Recreation team is planning another “first” for the City, as they organize a Pop-Up Dog Park event at Montreal Park on Saturday August 17 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The nine-acre park is situated in the southwest corner of Tucker just off Montreal Road.

“There’s been so much talk about dog parks within the Tucker community,” said Recreation Leader Joe Stewart. “We are excited to bring this event to Montreal Park, give those four-legged friends a chance to run around and perhaps offer people a glimpse of the future.”

Tucker’s Parks Master Plan was adopted by the Mayor and City Council earlier this year. The plan was authored by consultants from Barge Design following significant input from residents across the City. In the plan, those consultants recommend construction of a permanent dog park inside Montreal Park in the coming years.

The Pop-Up Dog Park will feature a large play area for all dogs. There will be a dog adoption station, free treats from Hollywood Feed and an opportunity for pet owners to take Tucker’s “Lead the Pack” pledge to keep their pets on leash in Tucker parks. Over 300 pet owners have signed the pledge so far, earning them a free City of Tucker leash.
