TUCKER, Ga. (January 27, 2020) – For the second straight year, the City of Tucker is offering its senior citizens the opportunity to celebrate romance on Valentine’s Day.
Tickets are on sale now for the second annual Valentine’s Day Social for Seniors. The event will take place on Friday February 14 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Tucker Recreation Center auditorium and will be followed by an optional screening of a classic movie.
Last year, dozens of participants enjoyed music, dancing and a delicious lunch. This year, lunch will be catered by local favorite Bambinelli’s Italian Restaurant.
“We invite everyone to come out with their friend, their sweetheart or even just by themselves,” said Tucker Recreation Leader Crystal Dawson. “By the end of the day, we’d like to see new friendships blossom and to let our seniors know how much our Tucker community loves them.”
Tickets will be $15 per person and are available for purchase at the front desk of Tucker Recreation Center.
The City of Tucker assumed responsibility for Tucker Recreation Center from DeKalb County in 2018. The building, originally built as an elementary school in the 1950s, is currently a hub for a diverse offering of classes, programs and community activities, as well as being a popular location for television and film productions. It is located at 4898 Lavista Road.
