Details Announced for Tucker's Expanded Summer Camp

TRC-kids-summer-campTUCKER, Ga. (February 24, 2020) – The City of Tucker Parks and Recreation Department is ready to roll out its highly anticipated 2020 Summer Camp at Tucker Recreation Center. Now in its third year, the popular camp will run from June 1 through July 24.

“If you thought camp was fun last year, just wait until you see all that we have in store for our campers in 2020!” said Tucker Recreation Leader Crystal Dawson, who is serving as the Camp Director. “In addition to being served lunch and snacks each day, our campers will take part in exciting STEM-based learning activities, swim time at Kelley Cofer pool and, everybody’s summer camp favorite, arts and crafts.”

The camp is open to kids ages 5-12. Dropoff begins at 7 o’clock each morning and campers must be picked up by 6 in the evening. Registration is $95 per week per camper and opens March 9 at the Tucker Recreation Center or online at tuckerga.gov/parks.

The Parks and Recreation Department is also offering two other opportunities for students. The first is a Spring Break minicamp. From April 6-10, when DeKalb County Schools are on Spring Break, Tucker Recreation Center will host campers from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. The cost will be $75 per camper and it will include daily field trips. Registration is ongoing for Spring Break minicamp.

They will also host two, weeklong minicamps around the Summer Camp. From May 26-29 and July 27-31, campers will be able to come to Tucker Recreation Center for even more field trips and fun activities. Just like the Spring Break minicamp, these minicamps are $75 per week and will run from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
