Tucker Continues Tasty Tradition with Pi Day Pie-K

Pi-Day Pie-KTUCKER, Ga. (March 9, 2020) – For those with difficulty motivating themselves to exercise, the City of Tucker may have an answer. For the second year in a row, Tucker’s Parks and Recreation Department will host its Pi Day Pie-K on March 14.

“This is the perfect way for you to burn some calories and then put them right back on,” explained Tucker Recreation Leader Crystal Dawson. “You can run, walk, skip, jump…whatever you have to do to make it to the finish line and there will be food waiting for you.”

The fun-run will start and end at the Tucker Recreation Center at 4898 Lavista Road. At the end of the 3.14-kilometer course, participants will be treated with pizza from Papa John’s, as well as a voucher for free pie from Matthews Cafeteria. The run will go off in two heats, the first starting at 8 a.m. and the second at 10 a.m., wrapping up just in time for the ninth annual Tucker Chili Cook-off on Main Street.

“Last year we had nearly 100 participants of all age levels and abilities join us,” said Tucker Parks and Recreation Director Rip Robertson. “We hope to see an even bigger crowd out there this Saturday.”

The Pi Day Pie-K is organized by the Tucker Parks and Recreation Department with support from Papa John’s, Matthews Cafeteria and Orangetheory Fitness Northlake.
