TUCKER, Ga. (May 1, 2020) – Tucker Mayor Frank Auman will deliver his fourth State of the City Address on Friday May 8 at 4 p.m. at the City Hall Annex. Because of uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus outbreak, the address will be delivered before a socially distant room limited to invited guests and city staff members. It will be streamed live for the public via Facebook and Zoom.
The State of the City Address has become an annual tradition, taking place each year of the eve of the beloved Tucker Day celebration. To comply with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on large gatherings, Tucker Day organizers have moved the festival to September 26.
Tucker, an unincorporated community in DeKalb County for 124 years, was granted cityhood after receiving 74 percent support from voters in a 2015 referendum. The City officially began business in the spring of 2016. Auman won election in 2016 and was re-elected without opposition to a full four-year term as mayor in 2017.
