TUCKER, Ga. (October 29, 2020) – With thousands across Tucker without power and Georgia Power crews working to restore service throughout metro Atlanta, the City of Tucker is stepping in to help. Tucker Recreation Center will be open today for residents to come and charge their cell phones, laptops and other devices.
“We were fortunate to not lose power here at the Rec Center,” said Tucker Parks and Recreation Director Rip Robertson. “We have capacity for people to come in and charge up, so we’re glad to be of help.”
Coronavirus protocols will still be in place, meaning:
- residents cannot just show up, they need to pre-register at https://tucker.recdesk.com/Community/Program
- capacity will be limited to 25 people at a time
- anyone entering the Rec Center will have to have their temperature taken and wear a mask
- charging sessions will be limited to one hour per resident
