TUCKER, Ga. (July 28, 2017) – The City of Tucker is proud to announce it will host its first citywide “National Night Out” gathering on Tuesday August 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Idlewood Elementary School (1484 Idlewood Road). The community picnic will feature free entertainment for children and be catered by the popular Palookaville food truck.
Created in 1984, “National Night Out” is an effort to foster relationships between police and members of the community. According to the National Association Town Watch, more than 38 million people in an estimated 20,000 communities nationwide held celebrations in 2016.
Through partnerships with CH2M and InterDev, Tucker’s “National Night Out” dinner will be provided free of charge to the first 500 people in attendance. The event is being held in cooperation with DeKalb County Police and the Idlewood Elementary PTA.
