Rosenfeld Park Dedication Set for May 28

Rosenfeld ParkTUCKER, Ga. (May 13, 2021) – Tucker’s Parks and Recreation Department will dedicate the former Smoke Rise Bath & Racquet Club as William “Bill” Rosenfeld Park at a special ceremony on Friday May 28 at 9 a.m. Rosenfeld, who represented Tucker’s District 1 on City Council for more than four years, passed away unexpectedly in January of this year.

“Bill was always a champion for our Tucker parks,” said City Manager Tami Hanlin. “We are glad to join Bill’s family and so many of his friends and neighbors from the Smoke Rise community in dedicating this beautiful park in his honor.”

Tucker’s Mayor and City Council voted unanimously on February 8 to name Rosenfeld Park in honor of the longtime small business owner and public servant. A plaque will be unveiled at the ceremony commemorating his many contributions to and lasting impact on the City. One of those impacts was helping the City acquire the park space. The acquisition added four tennis courts and a public pool to the Tucker Parks and Recreation system. Rosenfeld Park is located at 2088 Glacier Drive in Tucker’s Smoke Rise community.

Tucker’s parks cover more than 300 acres across the City, featuring two public pools and several miles of hiking trails. All park playgrounds around the City have been renovated since Tucker assumed responsibility for its parks from DeKalb County in 2018.
