Tucker to Light Up the Sky on July 3

Fireworks over TuckerTUCKER, Ga. (June 21, 2021) – Holiday revelers will be back on Tucker’s Main Street on July 3 for the City’s annual Celebration of Independence and Fireworks Spectacular sponsored by Discover DeKalb and Jacobs. The event will feature a trio of live cover bands, a food truck alley, a t-shirt giveaway and, of course, Tucker’s most stunning pyrotechnics show.

“As with so many other things in 2020, we had to go virtual last year with our fireworks show and concert,” said Matt Holmes, Tucker’s Director of Communications and Administrative Services. “Well, what a difference a year makes! With more and more people getting vaccinated every day, we are proud to invite folks to the biggest July 3 party the City of Tucker has ever seen.”

The event will start at 6 p.m. as party band The Vibe performs current Top 40 hits on the concert stage. They will be followed by local favorites Hu$h Money, back for a second straight year to perform rock’s greatest hits from the 60s to today. Following the fireworks at 9:30, Shyanne makes its Tucker debut, playing classics from the 1980s.

“We are amped up to headline the City of Tucker July 3rd Celebration,” said Vic Valmus of Shyanne. “We are going to rock out all your favorite 80s rock hits: Journey, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, AC/DC, .38 Special and many more.”

Now in its fourth year, the Celebration of Independence and Fireworks Spectacular is the crown jewel of the annual TKR Summer of Fun event series. Drawing thousands of people each year to Tucker’s Main Street, it is the area’s biggest and liveliest celebration of America’s birthday. Earlier this month, the series kicked off with the popular Movie on Main event. It will wrap up on August 3 with the City’s National Night Out celebration.
