TUCKER, Ga. (April 19, 2017) – As popular grocer Sprouts Farmers Market prepares for its grand opening next Wednesday, some of its neighbors at the new Tucker Meridian development are getting closer to their own opening dates.

The Meridian development, located at the intersection of Lavista Road and Northlake Parkway, has been a flurry of construction since its groundbreaking last fall. While Sprouts will be the first to open its doors, it won’t be operating alone for very long.

Footwear giant DSW has tentatively planned to open on April 28. Dick’s Sporting Goods will be next; the nation’s number one specialty athletic retailer is targeting a May 17 opening. Arts and crafts store Hobby Lobby plans to open in May, but has not settled on a date, while Ross Dress for Less is aiming to open on June 19.

“Meridian is a huge plus for the City of Tucker,” said Community and Economic Development Director John McHenry. “This is the first major development that’s been built out since we became a city. Now to see it come to fruition is really exciting and I think it’s just the start of some great commercial and residential
investments that will be happening along Northlake Parkway and in the City of Tucker.”

The development has been overseen by Tucker-based developer Ben F. Kushner & Co.

“This is the biggest commercial development Tucker’s seen in a decade,” Kushner said. “The [Tucker-Northlake] CID, the City Council and City staff have been great to work with. This project is going to be really nice and the people of Tucker will be very happy with it.”

The project will necessitate a new traffic signal on Northlake Parkway. Kushner’s development team confirms that signal should be installed next week.

The Sprouts grand opening is scheduled for Wednesday April 26 at 7 a.m. It will be preceded at 6:55 a.m. by a ribbon cutting celebration. Sprouts will have coupons and giveaways for a limited number of customers who come out to the opening.
