“I nominate Tucker resident John Keeter for Citizen of the Month. I have the pleasure of working with John through our involvement in Tucker’s Cub Scout Pack 129 where he is Cub Pack Master.
When taking over the role two years ago, John showed tremendous interest in taking the pack to new heights. Through his leadership and determination, he single-handedly tripled the size of the pack with recruitment efforts at local schools in just the second year. He also incorporated a new age group of five-year-olds and led the integration of girls into the pack.
A selfless volunteer, John is always the first to fill any role or assist with any task in the pack. He leads all the monthly pack meetings and fills in for den leaders on weekend den meetings. On event weekends, he is always the first one to show up and set up and is the last person to leave. And through it all, he keeps the ethos of the Scouts front and center, which is ‘to help other people at all times.’ The pack is lucky to have John as its leader!”
