PRESS RELEASE: Civic Leaders Weigh In at Tucker Tomorrow Summit

TUCKER, Ga. (December 16, 2016) – Leaders from several volunteer and community organizations spoke out Thursday night on the future of the city at the “Tucker Tomorrow” Civic Discussion.

The forum was another step in the process of creating Tucker’s comprehensive plan, the roadmap for future land use and development in the city. While “Tucker Tomorrow” kicked off in November, the opportunities for residents to get involved will last well into the new year. On January 21, there will be a pair of walking tours exploring two of the commercial centers in Tucker: Main Street and the Northlake area. The first tour starts at 11:30 a.m. and meets in front of the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. At 2:30 that afternoon, organizers will meet in the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot on Lavista Road for the second tour. Each tour is expected to last about two hours and give residents a chance to consider Tucker’s future in a unique way: on foot.

For a complete schedule of “Tucker Tomorrow” events, check out the comprehensive plan website. You can also view video of the entire Civic Discussion from Thursday night.
