The past few days have been critical in the rollout of “Tucker Tomorrow”, our city-wide effort to develop a comprehensive plan to guide Tucker into the future. Hundreds of residents have already given their input through meetings, walking tours, as well as online.
If you haven’t been a part of the process yet, here’s a recap of what’s happened so far:

  • “Tucker Tomorrow” Kick-off
On Thursday night, residents helped brainstorm the future of Tucker by analyzing six different categories: quality of life, housing and residential development, economic development, preservation of historic and natural resources, parks and recreation and transportation.
  • “Tucker Tomorrow” Walking Tours
In an effort to gain a different perspective on the current state and future of the city, residents participated in a series of walking tours throughout three of Tucker’s commercial areas. On Friday night, they explored and re-imagined Main Street. On Saturday, they traveled through the Lawrenceville Highway corridor, as well as the Northlake area.

The comprehensive plan process is a marathon, not a sprint, so there’s plenty of time to jump in the race! Some ways you can get involved going forward:

  • Online Survey
You can provide input on the city’s future virtually on our new survey. Starting Tuesday, you can find the survey by going to the city homepage and clicking on the “Tucker Tomorrow” box.
  • Civic Discussion
We will hold another meeting on Thursday December 15 at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church to provide more discussion of priorities in this comprehensive plan.

We really hope you’ll get involved in this process in some manner. It’s your chance to help shape the future of our city for generations to come!
