“I first met Jonn McDaniel after he was cast as a Russian dance instructor in Main Street Theatre’s production of You Can’t Take It With You in May 2016. I remember my wife sending me a text message from the auditions with a photo of this guy with long hair and an almost even longer beard auditioning for the part of Kolenkhov. He certainly had the look, but could he act? The answer was: of course!
Not only is Jonn a talented thespian, with acting credits in a number of Main Street Theatre productions, but he is an avid supporter of Tucker and its community. Jonn was instrumental in helping Main Street Theatre expand its community outreach through additions of interactive murder mystery dinners in partnership with local Tucker restaurants.
After some trips to New York City with his wife Susan, Jonn brought back the concept of partnering with the local businesses on Main Street for an immersive theatre experience that included following actors around Main Street and its businesses, solving puzzles and dining on delicious food and beverages at some of Tucker’s great local restaurants. Escapade was an instant hit and introduced a large number of people to local businesses they had never visited before.
Jonn formalized his dedication to Tucker and Main Street Theatre by becoming an MST board member in June 2017. With his leadership and vision, I’m excited to see where Jonn helps take Main Street Theatre and how he’ll continue to create unique and fun ways to connect this wonderful community of Tucker!”
