Job Postings
Once an open position is approved for recruitment, HR will generate job announcements on the city’s website and post them on designated external websites. Appropriate external recruitment sources will vary depending on the vacancy and will be determined by HR in collaboration with the hiring manager.
In some cases, external recruiting may take place simultaneously to expedite the process as required by city needs. Internal candidates may or may not be given preference depending on the specific circumstances.
Each job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
While internal applicants are not required to notify their supervisor that they have applied for a position, the supervisor will be informed if the internal applicant becomes a finalist. If hired, the current and the new supervisor will work together to determine an appropriate transfer date.
