City Council Wrap Up – 5.27.25

May 28, 2025

Tucker’s Mayor and City Council met last night for a rare Tuesday night meeting due to the Memorial Day holiday. The second meeting of the month is traditionally reserved as a work session to allow staff and contractors to provide updates and presentations for the Council.

In the first order of business, the Mayor and Council approved the agenda for the evening with one change to remove a presentation from Trees Atlanta on their Front Yard Program.

The agenda consisted of presentations on the April Interim Financials, upcoming agenda items, the Hugh Howell Road Corridor Study and the Johns Homestead Preservation Study and National Register.

In returning business, the applicant for a special land use permit to allow for a special event facility requested a deferral to the June 9 meeting to allow for more time to complete outstanding requirements. The Mayor and Council voted unanimously to approve the deferral.

There were only two items that required a vote and were presented during the work session meeting due to timeline constraints. The Council voted unanimously to approve advertising the certified estimated rollback rate for the annual discussion and approval of the City’s millage rate. They also unanimously approved a public works contract for road and curb drainage repair.

The Council then adjourned to executive session and returned to adjourn the meeting without further action. Tucker’s Mayor and City Council meet the second and fourth Monday of each month. Meetings are held at City Hall and streamed online at tuckerga.gov/agendas. Tucker City Hall is located at 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 350, Tucker, Georgia 30084
