City of Tucker Names New Finance Director

Tucker, Ga. (March 18, 2022) – The City of Tucker this week welcomed Beverly Ragland to serve as the City’s new Finance Director. In this capacity Ragland, will be charged with overseeing all aspects of Tucker’s finances, including the upcoming Fiscal Year ’23 budget.
“We are pleased to have someone of Beverly’s caliber joining Team Tucker,” said City Manager Tami Hanlin. “With her knowledge and years of municipal government experience, Tucker and its taxpayers will be in good hands for many years to come.”
“I’m very excited to be a member of the team in Tucker,” Ragland added. “This is an amazing opportunity, and I am looking forward to contributing to Tucker’s success.”
Ragland holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of West Georgia, as well as an MBA with a concentration in Public Administration from Columbia Southern University. She has worked in local government finance for over 20 years. She comes to Tucker after serving as the Finance Director and City Clerk in the City of Jasper, Georgia and over 12 years as the Deputy City Treasurer in Acworth, Georgia.
Tucker was established as an unincorporated part of DeKalb County in 1892. In 2015, 74 percent of voters supported Tucker’s cityhood, leading to the new City starting business in 2016.
