Project Overview
The City of Tucker requested guidance on transportation safety by commissioning the North-South Connectivity Study and identified several projects of interest. Idlewood Road is a major connector between Tucker and the surrounding area. Idlewood Road has two schools, Tucker Middle School and Idlewood Elementary School. With the growing traffic and safety concerns the North-South Connectivity Study recommended the addition of two roundabouts to keep the flow of traffic running smoothly and safely.
Construction is scheduled to begin August 10, 2026 and last 18 to 24 months for both roundabouts.
Description:
Fellowship Road and Sarr Parkway intersections on Idlewood Road are being upgraded from signals to modern urban roundabouts.
Objective:
To create smart and safer travel on one of Tucker’s busiest corridors.

New traffic flow for Idlewood Road at Sarr Parkway.
The roundabout at Sarr Parkway is 50% complete and operational. The traffic light will be removed this week and traffic will flow around the half that exits to Sarr Parkway.
Please use caution and share with those that travel the route.
October 2, 2026
Construction is ongoing for both intersections with major paving and a traffic shift to half of the roundabout at the Idlewood and Sarr Parkway intersection.
Flaggers are being used for partial and temporary lane closures so please exercise caution as you approach both the Idlewood Road/Fellowship Road intersection and the Idlewood Road/Sarr Parkway intersection.
