Olivia Hayes Memorial Playground

Monday, April 13 at the City Council Meeting, the Mayor and City Council presented a resolution to name the new ADA accessible playground at Fitzgerald Park and Sports Complex the Olivia Hayes Memorial Playground in honor of Olivia Hayes.

Olivia Hayes was a Tucker Football League cheerleader, straight-A student and active participant in several extracurriculars. She was passionate about serving her community and dreamed of becoming a teacher, preacher and a lawyer. She passed away in 2008 at just ten years old.

Her family has honored her life and spirit through ongoing service on the TFL board and the creation of Livvy’s Love, Inc., a 501 (c) (3) organization that provides financial assistance to youth to allow equal access to educational, extracurricular and community involvement opportunities. Since its creation, Livvy’s Love, Inc. has provided nearly $100,000 in assistance to youth ages 5 through 21. In addition, the foundation sponsors multiple need-based scholarships to graduating Tucker High School seniors in the form of the Olivia Hayes Memorial Scholarships, the Olivia Hayes Book Award and the Olivia Hayes Making a Difference Scholarship Award.
