The City of Tucker Mayor and Council approved its first-ever Tucker Youth Council in May, marking an exciting new chapter in youth engagement and leadership development. Designed for high school students who are eager to learn how their local government works, the Youth Council offers a unique opportunity to interact directly with city leaders, explore civic issues, and contribute fresh perspectives to community initiatives.

During its formation at the May City Council meeting, officials celebrated the creation of this inaugural program and the enthusiasm surrounding its first cohort. These students will help shape the Youth Council’s mission from the ground up, serving as ambassadors for their peers and gaining hands-on experience that will empower them as future leaders in Tucker and beyond.

The City looks forward to supporting this inaugural class as they embark on a year of learning, service, and meaningful civic participation.

To apply, students must be in their sophomore through senior years of high school and reside in the City of Tucker. Participants must also commit to a full year term and may reapply at the end of their term. The Youth Council will meet once a month, September through May.
