Tucker’s Economic Development Department welcomes new businesses to Tucker, educates business owners and offers support to aid their growth in the City according to the 2023 Economic Development Strategic Plan. The City’s Economic Development professionals facilitate Tucker Development Authority meetings to improve the City’s commercial corridors. The department also organizes ribbon cutting ceremonies to welcome and promote new businesses, and hosts events like Manufacturing Day to connect students with local manufacturers.

“Tucker is open for business,” said the City’s Economic Development Director Erica Rocker. “For Economic Development Week, we are appreciating all facets of economic development that create a successful business environment. Our events this week highlight 100 years of the lead agency that governs the profession of Economic Development, the International Economic Development Council, and recognize the important work practitioners do in their communities to make them thrive.”

On May 6 at 3 p.m., the Opportunity Tucker Development Summit will be held at Northlake Mall to present upcoming initiatives and economic trends as well as the City’s strategic priorities.
