January 13, 2026

The City of Tucker rang in the new year by swearing-in three re-elected council members and the City’s second ever Mayor, Anne Lerner.
In a special called meeting, the ten-year-old City welcomed Mayor Anne Lerner with an official oath of office administered by Judge Steve Nicholas and a ceremonial passing of the gavel from Mayor Frank Auman.
“The passing of the gavel is a reminder that leadership is shared, that progress is collective and that our work is bigger than any one person,” Mayor Lerner shared. “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and in our council members, and I look forward to continuing this work together.”
Mayor Lerner was a council member representing District 3 on the inaugural City of Tucker Council and served from 2016 to 2024 when she was then term limited. During her time on Council, she was a champion of several initiatives including the addition of the Public Works Department and the Non-Discrimination Ordinance. In her campaign, Mayor Lerner stressed her commitment to resident safety, transparency and economic growth for the City.
The oath of office was also administered to the three councilmembers that were re-elected for Seat 1 of each District. Councilmembers Roger Orlando (D1), Cara Schroeder (D2) and Alexis Weaver (D3) re-avowed their commitment to the City of Tucker surrounded by their families and warmly cheered by their community. The City of Tucker Mayor and Council meet the second and fourth Mondays of each month at City Hall, located at 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 350B, Tucker, GA 30084.
