Summer of Fun Pull-Out Guide

Beat the Heat at Tucker Pools

While not an official participant in our TKR Summer of Fun, our pools offer a great opportunity to expand your fun this summer. Tucker Parks and Recreation is pleased to offer extended pool hours, swim lessons and new events this year as we welcome Aquatics Coordinator Madeleine Leavitt to our department. We’d love to see you at our Preview Weekend May 16-17 and/or on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25 before the pools officially open for the season at 4 p.m. on May 29. We think our community will also be happy to know that both pools are now open seven days a week during the height of the summer season.

Swim lessons are provided by Penn Safety Training and use the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim curriculum which allows our swim lessons to be designed to meet each child where they are. Instructors focus on safety, skill development, and confidence, allowing swimmers to progress at a pace that feels comfortable while ensuring every child receives individualized attention. For further information about our swim lesson, please contact Adam Penn by emailing safetypennllc@gmail.com

WATER SAFETY WORKSHOP
MAY 16, 10 A.M.-12 P.M.

This free interactive workshop at Kelley Cofer Pool is designed for parents and children, with activities geared toward preschool-aged kids. Families will learn basic water safety skills through hands-on activities, including simple water rescue concepts and a gentle introduction to breath-holding and comfort in the water. Parents participate alongside their children to help build early water awareness, confidence, and safe habits in a fun, supportive environment.
