SPLOST II to be Added to Tucker Ballot

SPLOST-funded sidewalk installation in Tucker, GA.TUCKER, Ga. (September 7, 2023) – Tucker City Council voted to concur with DeKalb County’s call for a referendum to continue the one percent special purpose local option sales tax, or SPLOST II, and one percent equalized homestead option sales and use tax, or EHOST. In addition, parameters were set to specify how the SPLOST II fund may be used.

This November 7, in addition to voting on Post II representatives in each district, City of Tucker residents will vote to decide whether the County should continue to collect SPLOST and EHOST for the next six years beginning in April 2024.

By March of 2024, the City of Tucker will have spent over $19 million of its SPLOST I allocation on resurfacing more than 90 miles of city streets, constructing five miles of sidewalks and trails, and improving intersections.

EHOST serves to reduce the tax burden on qualified DeKalb County homeowners through a property tax break, replacing the Homestead Option Sales Tax (HOST).
