Fundraiser to Benefit Tucker Parks Education Project

Garden Enthusiasts, Tucker GATUCKER, Ga. (January 31, 2020) – The City of Tucker’s Parks and Recreation Department will be the beneficiary of the 2020 Garden Enthusiast Silent Auction. Proceeds of the auction will support the new “Bee-Educated” project at Tucker Nature Preserve.

“We are excited about bringing new amenities to all of our parks,” said Tucker Parks and Recreation Director Rip Robertson. “The team at The Garden Enthusiast saw the value in adding educational aspects to Tucker Nature Preserve and we are grateful for their support.”

The silent auction will take place from February 10-22 at The Garden Enthusiast’s new location at 2316 Main Street in downtown Tucker. Items can be donated for the auction until February 3. Organizers of the auction have a goal of raising $5,000.

“Bee-Educated” is an initiative to create an educational space within Tucker Nature Preserve to teach residents young and old about the power of pollinators. Ultimately, it will be a spot for local schools to take STEM-related field trips and engage in hands-on learning. The proceeds from the auction will help buy supplies to build Tucker’s bee haven, as well as educational materials.

Tucker Nature Preserve is a secluded, 12-acre park that features picnic areas and a wooded hiking trail for hikers of all skill levels.
