City of Tucker to Receive Grant for Trails

Tucker Trail Master Plan.TUCKER, Ga. (January 9, 2023) – The City of Tucker is excited to announce a significant federal grant that will allow the acceleration of the Tucker to Northlake Trail. The City previously received a commitment from the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) for almost $1.5 million for this project. This recent Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) amendment increases the federal funding by an additional $900,000. The City is already close to completion of its downtown trail and is advancing an extensive trail network that will advance livability and mobility for residents and visitors.

“We are always looking for funding outside of our regular budget so that we can move our projects forward,” said City Engineer Ken Hildebrandt. “The trail project is a great improvement to quality of life and health for City residents and we are thrilled to have partners like ARC to help move us forward.”

Tucker adopted the Trail Master Plan in 2019 and has been steadily working towards funding and construction. The Plan calls for 32 miles of greenway trail, side path and neighborhood greenways in seven segments connecting the seven Tucker Cluster schools, seven parks and provide nine trailhead and access points. The full plan and more details can be found at tuckerga.gov/plans.

In addition, the City of Tucker was awarded a $360,000 federal grant for engineering design to improve operations and safety along Mountain Industrial Boulevard, our job heavy industrial corridor.

The City of Tucker was incorporated in 2016 after a landslide vote of approval by its citizens. Tucker City Hall is located at 1975 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 350A, Tucker, GA 30084
