What are your job responsibilities as a Communications Coordinator with Team Tucker?
I contribute to InTucker magazine writing feature stories and taking photos. I also attend events that the city is involved in to capture these moments with photos and videos. I help with the City 101 videos that we produce. Other parts of my job include helping to provide communications from the City to Tucker residents and provide communications from the community to the City. I also attend local civic group meetings within the community and act as a liaison from the City to help figure out how the City can offer support. I also help with other tasks that may need to be done and try to be as much of a team player as I can be to help improve the success of the city of Tucker.
What do you like about working in local government?
One of my favorite parts is getting to know the people in the community. The people here are so friendly, and I love interacting with them. I love being part of our Ribbon Cutters Series, seeing how excited these new business owners are to join the Tucker community is a true testament to how awesome our government AND the community are.
Why is Communications important to a city?
The reason why I think communications is important to the city is because as a government entity we should be transparent with the citizens of Tucker and the communications department helps with that. Also, as a department we do our best to keep the community in the loop which is important because citizens should know what the city is up to. As a city our job is to serve, and we are serving by keeping an open communication with the community.
You are pretty new to Tucker, what has your experience been so far?
I love working in Tucker. My coworkers are great. I feel valued and appreciated by them. Along with that the people I've met in the community are so nice and welcoming. Also, the local restaurants have great food. For me Tucker is a loving welcoming community with great food!

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to play basketball for fun. I try to play as much basketball as I can when I have free time.
Who is the most famous person you have ever met?
The most famous person I met was Nick Cannon. Wild ‘n Out did a college tour and did a show at my college at the University of North Georgia. At the time I was working for our campus paper, and we covered the event. My friend got to interview him after the show, and we got to take pictures with him afterwards. It was a fun experience enjoying the show and meeting Nick Cannon.
Any exciting news you would like to share?
I am going to be a dad! My son’s name is Malikai Elijah Etienne! I am so excited to meet him. I love him so much and he has already brought so much joy in this world. I am really excited about this and excited about entering fatherhood! He actually might be here by the time you are reading this!
